Ghanaian Students in the UK Allegedly Selling Sperm to Survive

According to a recent report by UTV, Ghanaian students studying in the UK on government scholarships are allegedly resorting to selling their sperm in order to survive. The report suggests that these students, including those pursuing their PhDs, are facing severe financial difficulties due to delays in receiving their scholarship funds.

Many students have been struggling to pay rent, with some even facing eviction and legal action. In extreme cases, some are unable to afford food. The report claims that after donating sperm, students receive payments ranging from £150 to £200. Despite the financial relief, they are reportedly unhappy with the situation.

This alarming development has prompted calls for the Ghanaian government to intervene swiftly and address the issue. According to UTV, numerous students are suffering as a result of the delayed payments.

However, there has been mixed feedback about the report. Some have pointed out that sperm donation in the UK is voluntary, with no payments involved, casting doubt on the claims made by UTV. Others, however, have supported the report, insisting that the financial struggles of the students are real.

Criticism has also been directed at UTV, with some arguing that a major TV station should focus on pressing national issues, such as illegal mining, rather than covering a legal practice like sperm donation in the UK.
