Answering the WASSCE Integrated Science Practical Questions 

The Integrated Science practical is known as Paper Three.

The duration for this paper is 2 hours and the Questions are all compulsory, answer all.

Even though it is a Holistic Science, don’t forget there is a deliberate effort to include;

A biology Questions

A Chemistry Question

An Agriculture Question

Physic Questions.

This is marked over 60 and students can easily score all.

Preparation

Plotting of graphs is one major problem identified by the Chief Examiner, Students must take their time to learn how to plot the Graph.

The graph is now printed on the paper, you’ll answer all questions on the paper.  No extra graph will be given so be careful.

In plotting the Graph make sure you

i. Label your axis

ii. chose appropriate scale to use, do not use the number given directly from the table you have drawn, the numbers must be in the correct sequence; 1, 2, 3, 4…. or 10, 20, 30, 40   not 1, 20, 5, 16, because they appear like that from the question.

iii. In drawing your line make sure that you consider the line of best fit; a straight line that minimizes the distance between it and some data. 

iv. Finding the slope, draw the right angle triangle; A slope triangle is a visual tool that can be used to find the slope of a line. To draw a slope triangle, identify two points on the line that have easily named coordinates. Trace the apex of the triangle to to the vertical line and pick the coordinate. Trace the base of it to the vertical line and pick the coordinates. 

Divide by the Horizontal coordinates; trace the last end of the triangle to the horizontal line and pick the coordinate then the beginning of the triangle to the horizontal line.

v. Check the units of the slope to help you identify the scientific quantity and the significance of the slope.

Other Important Note

Writing accurate Units.

Spelling science terms correctly.

Understand and explain basic scientific principles.

Read and understand questions before answering.
